Memphis Ukulele Band
One of Memphis music icon Sam Phillips’ favorite sayings was, “If you’re not doing something different, you’re not doing anything.” With a unique ensemble sound and surprisingly diverse repertoire, Memphis Ukulele Band is firmly rooted in Memphis music’s maverick tradition.
MUB is a genuine labor of love, a ukulele-fueled Traveling Wilburys-style break from their busy musical “day-jobs,” which range from Matt Ross-Spang’s high-profile production/engineering gigs to Kyndle McMahan’s pursuit of her solo career. But what started as a fun side gig for house concerts and neighborhood coffeehouses soon took on a life – and devoted local fan base – all its own.
Kyndle & Adam
Over the past five years, Kyndle and Adam have become staples in the Memphis music scene. After founding the alt-country/soul group, Mason Jar Fireflies, they joined other Memphis elite by playing with the Memphis Ukulele Band, as well as the Bluff City Soul Collective. This singer-songwriter duo is now bringing it back home to where it all started with just the two of them and a guitar to present the scene with fresh strip down versions of songs we all know and love, as well as bringing their own to the table.
Bluff City Soul Collective
Whether performing original music or playing the classics at your event, BCSC is a multi-dimensional band with an eclectic mix of musical inspirations and backgrounds. After a year of seeking, tweaking, and unique-ing, the formation was complete. What started at the University of Memphis is now a power house of singers and musicians from Memphis, Tennessee. Each musician brings a dedication to their craft and a unique sound into the Collective. Some of us grew up singing in the church choir. Others can belt out a country song like no one else. Another one brings with him a soulfulness cultivated at Stax. Blend all that with some of the most seasoned session players and live performers and you have one of the most diverse groups in the World.
Mason Jar Fireflies
The Mason Jar Fireflies are an acoustic-trio based in Memphis, TN. Their signature sound is coined "Rhythm & Greens", blending soulful styles with rootsy elements.
